This post is something I should have written earlier and it was really a comment by a member of the Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team that reminded me to write this.

There is no better way to spend a day than being out in the open air enjoying the countryside and getting some exercise and there is no better place in Ireland to do this than Glendalough and the Wicklow Mountains. If you are going to do some hillwalking and don’t hillwalk too often, the Dublin and Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team (DWMRT) are happy to provide information on safety in the hills.

The DWMRT is a volunteer rescue service that operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

If you do get into difficulty on the mountains, DIAL 999 OR 112 and ask for MOUNTAIN RESCUE.

If you’ve found this post/site useful, and want to buy me a cup of tea I won’t say no!
