400 Years of Wicklow Songs on DVD

A new DVD has gone on sale which commemorates 400 years of Wicklow Song.
The DVD is the brainchild of Mattie Lennon who said :
“Wicklow was the last county in Ireland to be instituted, 400 years ago. And on the four-hundredth anniversary of the foundation of our beautiful County I hit on the idea of making a DVD to remember, honour and preserve some of its precious stories and legends as told through its ballads.”
The DVD features 57 minutes of video footage from around County Wicklow and is accompanied by 14 music tracks including :
- The blackbird of sweet Avondale
- The Wicklow rover
- Sunrise on the Wicklow Hills
- Ann Devlin
- The Wicklow vales for me
