am trying to make oral submission. a message by e mail has been sent to rboydbarrett@hotmail.com on what this contains. What it says is that there is NO NEED for a flats complex etc. using the Dun Laore marina as an example. There the Harbour Co [State] paid for the retaining wall of the enclosure and the private company then leased the ecnlosed space and paid for the marina infrastructure put in in this place. It is quite and fully simple. The marina company made a profit of some E 500 000 in 2005 on its marina renting out spaces to the public. It paid a E500 000 lease fee to the harbour co. The STATE can do exactly the same at Greystones and at much less cost than DL etc. and NO flats complexxes are necessary. In addittion it need not be that big because there is a need for refurbishment at BRay for a small marina there [and NO flats necessary there either] and at Arklow. “There is only so much population in around Greystones and much larger populations at Arklow and Bray which have no proper facilities especially Bray which is crying out for it.
