Wicklow County Council allocated €775,000 for disability strategy
The Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government today announced an €18 million package for the National Disability Strategy.
Wicklow County Council receives €775,000 as part of this strategy. The funding was first introduced in 2005 and is used for the following:
- disability awareness training
- undertaking accessibility audits
- adapting information systems and equipment for people with disabilities
- provide and improve accessibility to public buildings, roads, pavements, parks, amenities, heritage sites and other public areas

The announcement of funding today was made by Dick Roche TD, Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government.
