Wicklow Summer Family Walk breaks the €20k barrier for first time
After 5 years of trying, finally the 20,000 Euro barrier was broken in the Leitrim Lounge on Wednesday 14th June when the Wicklow Summer Family Walk completed it’s transaction for 2006 with a total of 20,091 Euro. Since the Walk began in 2002 the total amount collected for the Irish Cancer Society has been in excess of 90,000 Euro and since 1998 117,000 Euro.
Pat Lawless thanked the people of Wicklow and Ireland for their generous support, without their help and co-operation this massive figure would not have been possible.
A special word of thanks to Frank Kelly of Newtownmountkennedy 85 years of age who has completed the course every year with the exception of last year, due to illness. We wish Frank every good health and happiness in the future.
