Tall ship ‘Faramir’ to visit Wicklow

FaramirThe Tall Ship ‘Faramir’ will dock in Wicklow Harbour on Sunday 26th June as part of the Spirasi ‘Tall Ship Challenge Against Torture’. This coastal tour of Ireland has been organised by Spirasi to raise awareness about the incidence of torture throughout the world. It will also highlight the role of Spirasi as a support centre facilitating the integration of survivors of torture living in Ireland today.

The ship left Dublin Port on June 10th and has already stopped off at Killybegs, Sligo, Galway and today she visits Dingle on UN World Refugee Day.

Cobh and Waterford are the two ports of call before reaching Wicklow Harbour on Sunday. The final leg of the journey is to City Quay in Dublin on Monday 26th June to co-incide with the UN Day in Support of Victims of Torture.

The ship will be open for visits at Wicklow Harbour before and after the Passion concert at 9pm which is free of charge.
