Erica McKinney - Wicklow Life Coach and Healer - 6 Easy Steps to turn your ideas into reality

EricaAugustArticle

How many times have you had a brilliant idea, that you got really excited about, only to let it drift away because you dont know how to turn it into reality ?

For most of us the answer to this question is lots. Lots of brilliant ideas never getting off the ground.

So why does this and most importantly what can you do to change this. The good news is that with just 6 easy steps you can start making those brilliant ideas, those dreams, become a reality.

1. Focus on the end result

Most ideas start off as inspiring but vague thoughts and quickly fade to nothing.

To prevent this, when the idea pops up, explore it. Think it through. Get in to as much detail as possible here and build up a whole scenario showing how this idea would turn out in reality. Build on the idea so that it gains form and substance and becomes more defined.

2. Take off the Limits

Very often a little internal voice will pop up along side the idea and tell you all the reasons why it will not work, why you wouldn’t be able to do it and why its not a good idea. This little voice is a lethal weapon and kills most ideas dead on the spot.

Turn the volume on this voice down. Let your imagination run wild. Do not limit your idea in any way. You can listen to the little voice later to see if it has any valid points but at the inital stage ignore it.

3. Take the First Step

Most ideas drift away because we put off taking action until another day…but guess what 99% of the time the other day never comes.

Dont allow yourself to procrastinate. Pick one action that you can do within the next day to progress this idea. It does not have to be a complicated action. It can be as simple as making a phone call, checking out a website or writing a list. You dont to have a whole plan in place in order to start. Once you start taking action the plan will start to unfold.

4. Become a Hurdle Jumper

Ideas that get off the ground often fall at the first hurdle. That little inner voice is ready and waiting to pop up at the first challenge and to remind you that this was a bad idea and that there is no way it will work out.

Accept that there will be hurdles along the path as you start to move your idea in to reality. There will be challenges, there may even be false starts. This is normal. Reality isnt perfect and it rarely works out exactly as planned. Turn the inner voice down and accept that hurdles are a normal part of the course. Decide to face those challenges and treat them as an adventure. They are your biggest learning ground and often bring you greater opportunities than could have come your way had everything worked out exactly to plan.

5. Attention, Attention, Attention

What you pay attention to thrives - What you ignore dies. This is a simple fact. For your idea to become a reality you need to focus your energy and attention on it.

Everyday spend a few minutes focusing on the end result. Focusing on how you want your idea to turn out.

Everyday also take action to progress your idea towards becoming a reality. Start taking small steps and as the momentum builds you will automatically start to take bigger and bigger steps.

6. Believe in yourself

What you believe about yourself and your capabilities has a direct impact on your life experience and on your successes and failures. To create success in your life you need to believe in yourself.

Those of you who read my last article on www.wicklow.com on 11th of July will already be familiar with the importance of believing in yourself. For those of you who didnt read this I recommend you read it now because it will really help you to fully understand this step. You can find it in the ‘life’ category on this website.

Thats it from me today. If you have any questions or topics you’d like discussed I’d love to hear from you and you can contact me by email me at createyourlife@oceanfree.net. I look forward to talking to you again soon.
