N11 accident brings 2006 road death toll to 365

A 54 year old man was killed this morning on the N11 in a road accident. He has been named as Oliver O’Toole from Shankill, Co. Dublin. He was a pedestrian on the road at Scratnagh, near Arklow, when he was hit by a car at approximately 3.25am.

Gardai are investigating the incident.

The 11 mile stretch of road from Rathnew to Scratnagh Cross just north of Arklow is the most dangerous road in Wicklow and one of the worst in the country for deaths.
