Pay parking to be introduced in Greystones
Although in the pipeline for some time, Wicklow County Council have now issued notice that they plan to amend the existing parking regulations for Greystones. 3 Parking Zones have been identified in the town and each zone will have a different maximum stay length.
A €1 per hour parking fee is proposed (or 10 cent per six minutes). A €5 daily parking rate is also proposed and will operate at the North Beach Car Park.
Residents parking permits will be issued at a cost of €40 per annum or €75 for a two year permit. The council will issue up to four resident parking permits per dwelling. For those who live in coverted houses with more than 4 housing units, only one permit will be issued for each of the units.
Full details of the plans are located on www.wicklow.ie in the latest news section. The public can make submissions in relation to the plan by sending them in writing to Myra Porter, Senior Staff Officer, Greystones Area Office, Mill Road, Greystones, Co. Wicklow. Submissions must be received by 5.00 pm on Friday 6th July. The plan is available for viewing in council offices in Greystones and county buildings in Wicklow Town.
