A plan which would have reduced an area of architectural conservation around the Burnaby in Greystones has been rejected by Wicklow County Councillors. County Council officials had sought an amendment to the local area plan for Greystones and Delgany with a view to increasing housing density in the area. Removal of the conservation area status would have cleared the way for apartment blocks in the area.
