THAT hot Wicklow Property - still hasn’t sold

The highly desireable residence in County Wicklow which hit headlines in many parts of the world in January 2006 is still up for sale.

The sale of Neptune Beach Hut in Kilcoole is still being handled by Hassett Estate Agents and according to them :

“This Is An Ideal Holiday Home/Investment Opportunity On Circa 1/6 Of An Acre In A Spectacular Setting With Kilcoole Beach On Your Doorstep. Neptune Is A Timber Framed Structure With A Felt Roof. The Property Includes An Outdoor Chemical Toilet. Gas Cooking And Heating. “

Apparantly, it did actually go sale agreed some time in March 2006 but the sale never went through. It gained a lot of media interest as it was an easy way to demonstrate how crazy the Irish Property Market was.

Now, a little over 24 months later, the property market in Ireland is a very different beast. Despite this, Neptune House in Kilcoole is a monument to Irish optimism as it retains the same €120,000 price tag that it did in 2006!

Note : The image above IS NOT of Neptune House, but a search for shack on Flickr came up with that image and I’m happy to use it as that’s all Neptune House is.
