From Dublin City Centre

Distance : 51km

Travel Time : 2 hours

Follow the signs in the city centre for the N11. The N11 is the main national route in Ireland which runs north to south along the East Coast. Once you are on the N11, you just have to keep driving until you come to the village of Kilmacanogue (pronounced locally as Kil-ma-kan-ick) . This is a distance of approximately 24km. To travel this distance will take you between 40 minutes to 1 hour depending on the time of day you are travelling.

In Kilmacanogue, you will see the signpost for Glendalough and a slip road just after a Shell Garage (a handy spot to stop off for some refreshments).

From there, follow the R755 through Roundwood and on to Laragh village (another 25km). Keep on the main road through Laragh village and you are on the R756 to Glendalough village which is another 2km along. The total distance is 51km. Allow 2 hours for this trip at least.
