Outsider magazine has reported the tragic news of a death in Glendalough.

“A Dutch woman was killed on Wednesday March 1st after a fall from the Cliffs above St. Kevin’s Bed in Glendalough. Gardai alerted The Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue Team and Dublin/Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team just minutes after 6pm yesterday evening. The woman and her partner (both in their 30’s) were attempting to climb the treacherous cliffs above St. Kevin’s bed when the woman fell. Her partner managed to climb on to safety and raise the alarm. A full call-out was immediately issued to search for the fallen woman. Her partner was unsure of the distance of the fall and it was hoped she may have survived. Sadly, mountain rescue personnel found her body at 7.35pm.”
