Lá Féile Pádraig i Chontae Cill Mhantáin

St. Patrick’s Day is almost upon us and the weather is obliging as usual (winds from the northeast and bitingly cold according to Met Eireann). None of that will put a damper on the celebrations around County Wicklow.
The Arklow parade starts at 3pm from Mellows Avenue to Navvy Hill, Abbey Street, Hudsons Square and Main Street.
The Grand Marshall of the Arklow parade is Community Games leader James O’Reilly.
Rathdrum’s Parade begins at 12 o’clock outside St. Colman’s Hospital. Grand Marshall is Brigid Kelly who has devoted much time to the community in Rathdrum. The parade route is Fairgreen, Market Square, Lower Street and Station Road.
The parade in Wicklow Town begins at Whitegates at 3.15pm where it will run through the town to market square. Grand Marshall is Phyllis White who is well know for her work with the RNLI and Alzheimer’s society as well as the girl guides.
Greystones parade kicks off at 12 o’clock from South Beach car park down Church Road and Church Lane where it finishes at the cinema.
The Bray parade starts at 3pm and follows the route from Bray town centre to the seafront. As well as the parade there is a whole host of other festivites over the entire weekend. The fireworks display takes place on Saturday 18th at 8pm.
