Wicklow 400 Tourism Booklet launch

Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny travelled to Wicklow recently to launch a booklet called ‘The Road Less Travelled’. The booklet is the brainchild of Billy Timmins TD and it encourages people to explore the less well know beauty spots of County Wicklow.

Billy Timmins has represented County Wicklow in the Dail since 1997 and he says of this booklet

“County Wicklow boasts some of Ireland’s most beautiful tourist destinations. Glendalough, Powerscourt Gardens and Waterfall, Meeting of the Waters, Vale of Avoca, the Glen of Imaal and the Wicklow Gap spring easily to mind. So too do historic buildings such as Baltinglass Abbey, Russborough House, Humewood Castle, Kilruddery, and Wicklow Town Gaol.

However, there are less well known but equally lovely mountains, woods, walks, rivers, gaps and glens in our lovely county. This booklet offers a selection of beauty spots along roads ‘less travelled’.

I hope to deliver a copy of this booklet to as many households in the county as possible, and I will also make it available in public libraries.”

Look out for a copy coming through your door soon, and hopefully it will be made available online as well.
