Hundreds of walkers turned out over the recent Bank Holiday weekend at the annual West Wicklow Walking Festival. The event ran from Friday 28th April to Monday 1st May. One of the highlights of the festival was the night walk on Friday 28th where 100 walkers were guided by torchlight and ending in a bonfire ceremony. Minister Dick Roche joined in the fun on Monday 1st May at the Family Ramble.

“The 2006 West Wicklow Walking Festival was a great success. Kippure Estate is a unique place, perfectly located in an area of natural beauty in the magnificent surrounds of the West Wicklow hills. I really was great to see young and old exploring one of Ireland’s most spectacular and scenic areas.” said Wicklow Couny Tourism Chairman Pat Doyle, as festivities concluded.
