Spring is here and Wicklow Tidy Towns need some help

Tidytownsposter

If you can spare a couple of hours on Saturday morning (8th March) from 10am, the Wicklow Tidy Towns Committee could do with some helping hands down at the green opposite Tesco / Esso Service Station.

A big delivery of flowers and plants is arriving and they need to be set in the bedding area on the green. This will bring a real blast of colour to the entrance of the town and will herald the arrival of spring.

Many hands make light work, and help is always appreciated.

The whole town is rooting for Robyn Kavanagh in You’re A Star and there are thousands voting for Robyn every week (myself included of course), but how about we root for our town as well and help make it a place to rival Ireland’s tidiest town, Aughrim.

Shamefully, I’ve not stepped forward before and offered any assistance with the Tidy Towns work. After hearing Ken Lauder, chairman of the tidy towns committee speaking at the Save our Shores meeting on Tuesday night, I decided that I couldn’t allow that situation to continue. So, I’ll be down there on Saturday morning to help out along with my sister and (hopefully) my nephews and nieces too.

To paraphrase JFK – “Ask not what your town can do for you, ask what you can do for your town”

So, I’m asking anyone who is reading this and has arrived to the site on a search for Robyn Kavanagh, to vote for Wicklow as well and join in for a few short hours and help make the entrance of our town beautiful.

So it’s Saturday morning (8th March) at 10am at the green opposite Tesco / Esso Service Station.
